Chevre (Goat Cheese) is wonderful on it’s own straight out of the container. Spread it on a cracker and you have an instant appetizer or snack. But there are many other delicious ways to enjoy this cheese. Some ideas we find tempting…
Breakfast/Brunch
Use chevre instead of cream cheese on a bagel or toast.
Scramble it with eggs.
Asparagus and chevre omelet. Add a side of strawberries for the perfect spring breakfast!
Stir it into grits.
Lunch
Spread it on a sandwich or a burger in place of mayonnaise.
Crumble it into your salad.
Stir it into soup for a creamy and elegant finish.
Macaroni and Goat Cheese.
Dinner
Substitute chevre for the ricotta in a lasagna.
For a simple pasta sauce, mix goat cheese with pesto.
Crumble it over your favorite pizza.
Mix it into mashed potatoes or use it in place of sour cream on baked potatoes.
In enchiladas.
Melt it over steaks or in pork chops for an excellent new flavor.
Appetizers
Spread it on slices of fruit and then drizzle with honey.
Stuff it into a fresh fig and drizzle honey over it.
Spread it on crackers and add hot peppers or hot pepper jelly.
Pair it with smoked salmon any way you like. These flavors match well.
