I saw this wonderfully simple and nourishing recipe for a classic strawberry milk shake on the Nourished Kitchen blog (excellent site!) and knew I would be making it right away. I just picked up my milk share from Tuckahoe Lamb & Cattle Co. as well as my Fall Line Farms order which included strawberries from Agriberry and eggs from Rockcastle Farm. I already had honey from Brookview Farm and a little vanilla so this recipe fit the bill.
Strawberry Milk Shakes
from Nourished Kitchen
Serves 4 reasonably portioned milk shakes
Ingredients for strawberry milk shakes:
-
2 Cups Frozen, Hulled Organic Strawberries
-
1 Quart Fresh, Raw Whole Milk from Grass-fed Cows
-
2 Tablespoons Raw Honey
-
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract or 1 Vanilla Bean
-
2 pastured egg yolks

Instructions:
-
Add all ingredients together in a blender and blend until smooth.
-
Serve to your eagerly awaiting guests.
The end result? Deliciousness. I added a little more honey and strawberries to suit my sweet tooth. I look forward to trying this recipe with other berries as they come into season.
